2007 FOALS
It's the end of our foaling season here at Fresh Meadows
13 foals - the girls rule this year with 9 fillies and 4 colts
Our foaling season ran longer than usual due to the arrival of 2 rescued pregnant mares. Both were rescued from a farm near Hagerstown in December of 2006. Mary, the first pregnant mare, arrived on December 6, 2006. Dr. Molesworth volunteered to take in a pregnant mare. What she got was a pregnant mare with a foal by her side. Mary and Joey, as they were named, are doing fine. Mary had her foal on August 20, 2007 – a little filly we named Summer.

The second mare, another Arabian, came to us for foaling from Days End Farm Horse Rescue where she has been taken care of since the seizure. She had her foal, a blue-eyed paint colt, on September 16, 2007. A week after birth the mare and colt return to Days End where they too will eventually be put up for adoption.
